Introducing Lindsay Kaudelka.

My name is Lindsay Kaudelka. I am from the beautiful town of Boone, North Carolina, located in the Appalachian Mountains. In May, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in elementary education. I love dancing, hiking/playing outside, Wendy's, painting/crafting, hugs, Taylor Swift, Tar Heel basketball, and teaching! I have dreamt of being a teacher ever since I was a kid, always forcing my younger sister to play school with me. I was encouraged to apply for teaching jobs as soon as I graduated, but right now my passion for serving the Lord in Africa is much greater. (I am definitely excited to become an elementary teacher one day though!) At UNC, I was involved in Cru, a campus ministry that redefined the Gospel and my relationship with God as something personal and full of spirit. I got poured into through small group Bible studies and discipleships, and I learned the immeasurable value of Christ's love for us. Knowing that I had something so valuable, I wanted to be able to share with others this love that was given to me freely. As graduation approached, I did lots of research about organizations in Africa, talked to lots of people, and filled out lots of applications, but when I saw Journey and Choose to Invest, that was it. It stood out as the perfect combination of my passions: discipleship, Africa, teaching, and children. I still stand in amazement that God can so perfectly plan everything to work together for our good. I am so looking forward to continuing to see how God's intricate plan will unfold and amaze me. I am excited for how our team will grow together and challenge each other and love each other. God is able to more than we can even imagine, and I can't wait to see what He has in store for East Africa this fall!

I am super goofy and love to laugh and have fun! I love life and I cannot wait to share that joy with all the people we are going to meet! I have had East Africa on my heart for 6 years now and God has brought me to the point where I am going to go! I was inspired when I was going to be a freshman in high school when someone spoke at a summer camp I was volunteering at. They talked all about the the people and the need for God's love there! I have been hooked since! Cannot wait to see how God impacts me as well as works through me to serve his people!
