Yesterday we said goodbye to another incredible group of Rejoice Project team members. Honestly, the last day is always my favorite. The team is usually up early after going to bed late because they just want to make the best of every moment they have together. They started with worship and prayer at 6am before sharing a meal and what God did in their hearts throughout the week. We share scripture together and spend time in prayer for everyone before they begin their journey back to their communities.
One of the highlights of this week for me may sound kind of strange... I didn't understand a large majority of what was being said! Unless I was the one talking, everything else was spoken in Swahili and , I couldn't be more thankful. I'm thankful that God has graciously given me and my family enough time here to understand the culture, facial responses, and body language so that I still feel clued in to what is going on. We are thankful for a team of men who love Jesus more than anything else and who won't stop investing in others to allow them the change to experience God the way that they do. We are thankful for partnership with an organization that recognized our sweet spot and set us loose to do what we are called to do. And we are thankful that the word of God is true and living and just as relevant today as when it was being written.
Rejoice Project retreats are key to the team members going deeper with God, each other, and in their discipleship of the next generation. God works in powerful ways when a team of people from across the country gather together to share what they know and learn as much as they can about the spiritual development of a generation. They are united even when they come from different tribes, denominations, family scenarios, and age groups . And together, they experience the Church in a way that brings glory to God!
Thank you for praying with us this week and for this team of leaders. We have an exciting opportunity to make sure that Rejoice Project retreats continue transforming lives and I want to ask you to get involved!
We are partnering with 7 other amazing non-profits in the Atlanta area for an event called GeneroCity Market. The event is on May 2nd , and it's a simple way to support what God is doing through Rejoice Project. If you live in the Atlanta area, here is what you can do:
Take time this weekend to gather the things in your house that you just don't need or want that can be sold for $40 or above. Bring them to Alpharetta on April 30th or May 1st , and let us take care of the rest! If you are interested, let us know, and we will send you more details.
We will be selling all donated items at the GeneroCity Market on May 2nd in Alpharetta and the proceeds will go to support Rejoice Project! It's an easy way to wrap up your spring cleaning while helping out a fantastic team of leaders in East Africa. Stop by and see us at the event and enjoy some Chai tea!
